Students are given a weekly assignment for writing, which is called the Nifty News. Our Nifty News is completed on Mondays (Tuesdays if we have Monday off). Students will be able to share their News and will also place their weekly assignment in their portfolios for possible future personal narratives for publishing in the classroom. News can be about family, weekend adventures, sports events, celebrations, and news which is special to each individual student. I expect that students will be able to self-edit for correct capitalization, punctuation, and spelling!
